One Room Challenge – Week 6 {The Reveal}

It’s the long-awaited day of the One Room Challenge reveal.

ORC-LP-250x183

A big thank you to Linda at Calling it Home for hosting this event!

To see my previous ORC posts go here, here, here, here and here.

Let’s get started by showing you where we began:
spare room before its transformation

It was a room that served many purposes — an exercise space, craft storage and blogging/homework area.

The room had not been painted since we moved in 14 years ago and the carpet was badly stained and needed replacing.

Here is the room today:

The room has come a long way but I have to confess that it’s not completely done.

Here’s the other side of the room:

unfinished room

I’m not trying to throw my husband under the bus, but this side is up to him.   In his defense, he’s waiting for the speaker stands — they had to be re-ordered because the box he received was damaged, missing a few parts and the base was scratched.  The store has re-ordered them but they haven’t arrived yet.   In addition, he has been away on business and had to stop getting everything set up because he just ran out of time before his trip.

As for the window treatments, I purchased these Levelor blinds from Lowe’s:

woven wood blinds

They are still sitting in the box.  My husband will, hopefully, install the blinds this weekend.

I plan to make curtains to go with the blinds.  I was waiting for this fabric that is on back order:

portfolio mandha indigo fabric

But, after I found the blue and white poufs at Lowe’s, I decided to go with a navy ticking stripe fabric from Online Fabric Store instead.

It’s on its way here but didn’t make it in time for Week 6 of the ORC.

The room is so, so close!  Once my husband installs the blinds and rigs up his media equipment, we’ll be good to go!  I will definitely post updated pictures when everything is complete.
