Easy DIY Fall Topiary & a Giveaway!

Ready or not, Fall is in the air!

Even though it’s still hot here in Texas, the morning air hints that cooler weather is on its way and I cannot wait!

I love Fall and this year I’m so happy to be kicking it off with a Fall Inspiration tour with my fellow bHome bloggers.

bHome fall tour

If you’re new here and haven’t heard of the bHome App, I’ll explain more at the bottom of this post.  Plus, I have some news about a giveaway from Décor Steals so you’ll want to read all the way to the bottom. Until then, I want to share my latest fall craft with you.

I’ve had this idea brewing in my head for awhile so I’m excited that it was finally time to make this simple fall topiary:

easy diy topiary | Lilacs & Longhorns

I came up with the idea for this project this spring when I made something similar using this same little tea cup from Anthropologie.

This project is just about as easy as crafting gets and it takes less than 10 minutes!

Supplies:

  • bundle of dried wheat
  • floral foam
  • container (tea cup, flower pot, bowl, etc.)
  • dried lentils (it’s best to use something that gives a little weight – such as lentils or rice – so the topiary does not tip over)
  • twine

Directions:

  • cut floral foam to fit into container
  • cut dried wheat stems to desired length
  • tie bundle of wheat together with twine
  • gently, yet firmly, push wheat bundle in to the floral foam
  • fill cup with lentils covering foam entirely

See?  Easy!  No glue or special skills required.

I mentioned that this craft is part of a Fall Inspiration tour.  Please come back here tomorrow to see 30+ décor ideas, recipes, crafts and more!  Remember, the participating blogs are part of the bHome App. If you’re not familiar with bHome, it is a fantastic home and garden community accessible all in one App (available on both iPhone and Android). Many of your favorite bloggers are on the App as well as home and garden magazines and some great retailers. You can check it out through the link on my sidebar or clicking one of the bHome links in this post.

If you are already on bHome then you already know the line-up of blogs for tomorrow’s round-up is AMAZING.  I cannot wait to see what everyone is sharing for Fall!

Even more exciting is that we are pleased and honored to have Decor Steals sponsoring this event. We are giving away five (5) coupon codes each good for $100 at Decor Steals. There will be 5 winners (Sorry, this giveaway is open to US residents only).  Winners will be contacted on or about 9/19.
