Christmas Cards Made Easy

A long time ago before I was married and had children, sending Christmas cards to friends and family was no big deal.  The entire process took about 20 minutes.

Seventeen years and two children later, I find that the whole Christmas card routine is a much bigger ordeal.  And, yes, I do mean “ordeal.”

Up until a few years ago, I wrote a letter to friends updating them on all of our family happenings.  I took pictures of the kids, had photo cards made then tracked down current addresses while my husband fiddled on the computer to create a mail merge from his spreadsheet to mailing labels.  It always took a few tries to get the labels to line up just right so that was a job in and of itself.  When everything was good to go, we stuffed and sealed what seemed like a million envelopes and then put a stamp on them before they finally landed in the mail box.  See what I mean?  Ordeal.

Then last year, I teamed up with Minted.com for my Christmas cards and let me tell you, they changed my life!

Well, not really but they simplified the process and that was a big deal!

I really, truly only work with brands that I believe in and love and I can honestly say it about Minted.  To me, they are “Christmas cards made easy.”  Really.

A few years ago I gave up the family bulletin letter so that made things easier already, but the real struggle for us was doing all the addressing.  It seemed like we were always fussing with the address labels.  Printing them out and getting them to look just right was frustrating.

With Minted, they do all of the addressing for you for FREE!  And, it is pretty and decorative and who doesn’t love that?!  It did take a little time to format my spreadsheet to their requirements, but it wasn’t difficult at all.  And, because I saved the format I won’t have to do it again.  I’m all ready to go!

I love their pretty designs and they have so many to choose from!  I adore the fact that they use independent artists from across the country to create their designs.  I love the weight of the card stock paper they use.  Everything is high quality and beautiful.

To be completely transparent, their cards do cost more than going to a drugstore or a wholesale store to get picture cards made, but the quality isn’t even comparable.  In addition, I personally find value in the envelope addressing.  Even if I weren’t partnering with Minted, I would purchase their cards.  I like them that much.

Here’s what our card looked like last year:

I had so much fun with the design.  I even swapped out a designer backer image for my own on the back.  I thought it was fun to include a silly picture of the kids instead.  It was awesome to have the flexibility to do that.
