Casually Elegant Fall Table {It’s All Set}

Tomorrow is the official first day of fall and I am hoping Mother Nature sends a little bit of it our way.  This week has been steamy hot and I am so ready for cooler temperatures!

Hot or cold, I am bringing fall indoors — especially to my table!

I am so excited that it’s time for another installment of our monthly tablescape series, It’s All Set.  You can click on the links at the bottom of this post to see all of the beautiful inspiration!

This month, I created a casually elegant fall table that’s just right for any fall celebration.  You’ll notice that I gravitate towards traditional fall colors and I love to use them in my home and on my table during the autumn season.

Although I did go a little more subdued than I usually do this time of year, I find that I simply must have pops of orange and reds in my fall decor.  It works it’s way in no matter where I start — I just seem to have to have it!

I adore real plants and pumpkins, but this year I have a combination.  It’s still a little early to buy real here because of the heat.  I found some real mums yesterday so I bought a few.  However, I’ve also added to my collection of faux pumpkins and berries.

This year I added some realistic looking bittersweet in to the mix and I am loving it.  It doesn’t grow where I live and I’ve been hesitant to buy real.  I’m afraid it will look horrible after a couple of weeks and I’m also worried my cats will chew on it.  So, faux it is!

I adore the reds and oranges of fall with blue and white dishes.  But, then again, I love just about everything with blue and white!

By the way, I scored these lovely plates at my local Goodwill the other day for $2 each!  You can read more about it on my Instagram account.  Just look for the picture of the plate on my feed.

Can you tell these silver candle sticks were also a thrift store find?  Friends, you just never know what goodies you might pick up when you go thrifting!  It’s true — one man’s trash is another man’s treasure!

I hope you enjoyed my casual and elegant fall table.  Be sure to click on the links below to find more gorgeous fall tablescape inspiration!

  1. Very the heck cloth and the centerpiece. I am the odd ball out, and on the fall bandwagon yet at all. I have not even bought a single pumpkin! And though fall is my favorite season, I need to take my time in saying goodbye to summer. This was so pretty and a great welcome to fall tablescape!

  2. Fall colors look good in your home, Julie. I love the little hints of orange and I think I have the same bittersweet as you. We can get it here in Illinois, but the real stuff is really expensive. Love your dining chairs!

  3. Julie, your fall table is so lovely and inviting! I really like the little bits of orange, and they look so pretty with the traditional blue and white. Those plates are stunning!! Even though I’ve started out lighter, I do eventually get into the richer colors and this table showcases that feel with a nice touch of elegance. Well done!!

  8. Your fall table is just lovely, especially the center piece.

    I have china that looks just like that. You got a great deal on it. The candle sticks look amazing. Are they sterling? The berries on my real bittersweet are looking a little wrinkled but it still looks good after two weeks. It is starting to shed a little which is a pain because I have it on at tray on my kitchen table. Your faux bittersweet looks fantastic and I may have to go faux on my table next year.
